Lead Engineer – Trustwise (India)
Role
Trustwise is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Lead Engineer to join our team in India. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with leadership responsibilities, focused on implementing our Trust Layer for GenAI systems using our core tech stack of Kubernetes, Rust, Python, and TypeScript. You will
lead a team of engineers in India, taking complete ownership of assigned work areas while ensuring alignment with the company’s overall technical direction.
The ideal candidate is a technically proficient engineer with excellent engineering fundamentals who excels at execution, ownership, and delivering results with minimal supervision. You will be writing code daily while also providing technical guidance to your team. This role requires deep technical expertise in
Python and our broader stack, excellent communication skills, and the ability to take full ownership of your assigned domain within our GenAI trust platform.
Applicants seeking a conventional corporate environment with extensive guidance or predictable work schedules may not be a good fit. This role requires self-direction, hands-on coding, ownership mentality, and genuine passion for Trustwise’s mission of building the trust layer for GenAI systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Lead Engineer at Trustwise, you will be entrusted with a pivotal role in our engineering department, with key responsibilities including:
- Hands-on Development: Spend a significant portion of your time (50%+) writing code, reviewing pull requests, and directly contributing to the codebase. This is not a management-only position but requires deep technical engagement.
- Technical Implementation: Drive the implementation of features and components for our GenAI trust platform using our core tech stack. Apply excellent engineering fundamentals to ensure high-quality code, performance optimization, and robust security measures.
- Domain Ownership: Take complete ownership of your assigned functional area within our GenAI trust platform. Drive implementation, testing, and maintenance with minimal supervision or hand-holding.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers in India, providing day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and technical direction. Translate high-level requirements into concrete tasks and deliverables for your team.
- Testing Ownership: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for your assigned domain, ensuring robust validation of GenAI trust mechanisms. Build and maintain automated testing pipelines that verify functionality and performance.
- Global Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with engineering teams across different geographies, ensuring clear communication, alignment on goals, and cohesive implementation of features.
